Strict Factory Manufacturing & Sizing Rules

1. The Total Unit Width Rule (Bracket-to-Bracket)

When entering your dimensions in millimeters, the Width value you provide is the total structural width of the entire unit (inclusive of side brackets and control mechanisms).

  • Fabric Deduction Note: To allow the smooth operation of the chain hoist, the actual fabric width will be 28mm narrower than your total ordered unit width.

2. Pricing Increment Logic

To maintain wholesale-direct pricing transparency, materials are batched and billed in increment levels. Your price is automatically determined by the closest rounding-up threshold of material consumed, ensuring you get factory pricing without paying for unnecessary waste.

3. Precision Measurement Formulas

You must apply the correct formula based on your chosen mounting configuration:

  • Inside Window Fit (Recess Mount): Measure the exact structural window opening at the narrowest point. Formula: Ordered Width = Measured Width minus 10mm (1cm). The drop is entered exactly as measured.

  • Outside Window Fit (Wall / Face Fix): Measure the window opening edge-to-edge. Formula: Ordered Width = Measured Width plus 100mm (10cm). Ordered Drop = Measured Drop plus 100mm (10cm). This addition ensures the fabric overlaps the frame sufficiently to minimize peripheral light bleed.

  •  💡 Pro-Tip: How to Eliminate the "Halo Effect" When installing blockout roller blinds inside the window frame (a reveal fit), a small physical gap is always required on the left and right sides to accommodate the brackets and the chain mechanism. This gap inevitably allows a border of sunlight to bleed through into the room, commonly known as the "halo effect."

  • 💡The Solution (Go Wider on the Outside): To completely eliminate this light leakage and achieve true darkness, we strongly recommend mounting your blind outside the window frame (a face fit). Measure your window and add a generous 10cm to 15cm to both the left and right sides, as well as to the bottom drop. This extra width allows the heavy blockout fabric to extend well past the window opening, effectively sealing off the edges and preventing the halo effect entirely.

What is Included in Your Kit

  • 1 x Precision Cut-to-Size Blockout Roller Blind (Fabric pre-assembled to aluminum roller tube)

  • 2 x Universal Mounting Brackets (Suitable for top, face, or side-fixing)

  • 1 x Continuous PVC Ball Chain Control Unit

  • 1 x Child-Safety Cord Tensioner

⚠️ Hardware Exclusion Notice: Standard wall plugs and fixing screws are not included in this kit. Because our factory ships nationwide across varying structural mediums, we recommend utilizing high-quality 5mm or 6mm screws tailored specifically to your installation substrate (e.g., expansion plugs for masonry/brickwork, toggle bolts for drywall, or wood screws for timber framing).

Production Lead Times & Logistics

  • Manufacturing Timeline: Precision cutting, assembly, and quality testing take approximately 5 to 7 working days from payment confirmation on our factory floor.

  • FREE Countrywide Delivery: We offer direct-to-door courier logistics across South Africa.

Width Input Callout

💡 Pro-Tip: Avoid the #1 Sizing Mistake

Remember, the width you type above is the total unit size from bracket-to-bracket, NOT just the fabric width. The fabric itself will be roughly 28mm narrower than your order to clear the mechanisms. If mounting inside the window recess, measure your wall opening accurately and subtract 10mm (1cm) so the brackets slide in cleanly. If mounting outside on the face of the wall, add 100mm (10cm) to your total measurement so the fabric fully overlaps the window frame to prevent side light gaps.

Adjustment Policy Callout

🛠️ Measurement Peace-of-Mind Insurance

Measure twice, order with total confidence. We understand mistakes happen. If you accidentally mismeasure your window and your blind arrives too wide, don't panic. Our factory offers a Cut-Down Remanufacturing Service for R350 per blind plus a R300 courier handling fee. We will collect the blind, recut it to your revised dimensions on our precision machines, and return it directly to your door.

The quality of the product seems fine but (1) I was totally mislead by the dimensions (the blind material is 370mm wide and not 400mm) (2) there are absolutely no instructions for fitting (3) no screws or wall pugs were included.

Hi Raymond, thank you for your fair feedback. We’d like to clarify the sizing to help understand better:
Production: The size ordered refers to the total width, ie bracket-to-bracket. We supply the complete unit size… if we were to work on fabric size, the overall blind size would be supplied wider, which may prevent a proper fit, particularly for inside window fitting blinds but since you ordered Outside Fix, our guide recommends adding 10cm to the window width to ensure the total unit covers the opening correctly.
Hardware: As noted on our website, we don't include screws/plugs. This allows you to choose the specific fixings required for your wall type (brick, wood, or drywall) for the correct installation.
Instructions: we don’t include paper documentation but in event you are stuck, we can assist with general pics and we have a short video showing an installer fitting the blind, which is shown on the product page.
We’re here to help if you have any further questions!
